THE CENTER FOR MEDICAL TRANSPORT RESEARCH
SAFETY STORY WORKSHOPS

Safety is on the minds of everyone in the Air Medical Transport Industry. Unfortunately, our industry has lost several close friends and colleagues as the result of air medical accidents that have occurred in recent years.

Do you have an experience that brings safety into focus when you discuss this topic with your colleagues? Do you believe that your story is compelling enough to move others to focus on safe practices around their aircraft or ground transport vehicle? Do you wish that you could share your story with everyone in the industry? We are looking for air/ ground nurses & medics, pilots & drivers, and administrators & dispatch personnel that have had a safety incident or situation in the Medical Transportation field that want to tell their story.

Cathy Jaynes and several others throughout the country have had such experiences and have shared their stories using digital storytelling to convey their message. You can view these stories by going to the following link:

Our hope is to collect 100 stories highlighting important safety-related messages for our industry that can be used to augment any local or national efforts to improve air medical safety. During these 3-day workshops, we will be working with professional writers and production managers from Center for Digital Storytelling (www.storycenter.org) to produce each individual story. These stories will be posted on the TCMTR website and our YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/tcmtrcolumbus/videos  to be used as teaching tools and agents for change in strengthening our industry’s culture of safety.
